Improve and troubleshoot your Zoom experience

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. My computer is acting very strange. When I go into the control panel, I have two headsets show up. If I try to set this as the default, I can not hear anything else while the zoom meeting is running, the test tone will not play, and the volume mixer simply will not work. If I set this as the default device, however, all my problems are solved except that the audio quality is very poor and there is always static in the background.

I don’t think there is any solution to this, just wanted to let you know in case my headphones are bad or this is not supposed to happen. Edit: the “stereo” headphones bring up the quality significantly and the volume mixer works with it but only when I’m not in a zoom meeting. Could you explain how you changed the audio input device to the same as system for both microphone and speakers? I had the same problem. I solved this by changing the audio input device to same as system, both microphone and speakers.

Hi Bhavesh,. I had the same problem I tried to solve this using Bhavesh’s method it did not work I still don’t know how to solve this. I tried many ways like messing with audio settings but still it did not work. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. This does not mean that I cannot hear other participants in the meeting, just that if there is another app with audio playing at the same time, I cannot hear it. I don’t know anyone else with this problem and can’t find any help on this issue on the Zoom help website. I use a Bluetooth headset, and all my drivers are up to date. I can hear sounds from other apps only when I am not in a meeting. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

Auto connect to audio zoom meaning – none:

Before you start using Zoom, you have to set it up first. That means making an account, downloading the required apps, and taking care of a few basic settings. All you have to do is enter your work email address, activate your account via a link sent to you in an email, and add your name and a password of choice. These include the app for your PC and the app for your Android or iOS device if you plan on joining meetings on the go.

You can join a Zoom meeting on your PC without the app, as the software works in a browser. However, its feature set is limited in this case. For that reason, our advice is to get the app. We recommend uploading your profile image, which will show up in a Zoom meeting when your camera is turned off — making you look more professional. The final thing we recommend you do is to decide whether you want the camera and microphone to be turned on or off by default when you join a meeting.

These are the basic settings we recommend you update before joining your first meeting, although there are plenty of others available as well. See also: Zoom Meetings: 10 tips and tricks you should know about. If you want to know how to use Zoom, you have to get familiar with its main features. We suggest you do that before you join a real meeting. Here are the main ones you should know and try out:. Just click on the microphone or camera icon to switch either of them on or off.

Mute a participant: This feature is only available to a host — the person who starts a meeting. Raise your hand: Whenever you want to speak, you can signal it to the host by raising your hand virtually. The host will then give you the floor to talk or ask questions. This is a great feature that prevents multiple people from talking at once. Record a meeting: You can record any Zoom Meeting you enter.

Also, keep in mind that the host of a meeting manages this feature. By default, the message will be sent to a group channel, meaning everyone will see it. To mute or unmute your microphone, click on the microphone icon on your Zoom toolbar. Back to Zoom Documentation Homepage Join from a computer When entering a Zoom meeting for the first time from a computer, you will be prompted to download a small application file. Reopen your email and click on the meeting link again. This should automatically connect you to the meeting.

If it doesn’t, open the Zoom app that you just downloaded, click on Join a Meeting and enter the meeting link or ID. If the host has not started the meeting yet, you will see a message stating “Please wait for the host to start this meeting” at the top.

Before entering the meeting you will be prompted to enter a display name. This name is simply to identify you in the meeting. Join Audio via Computer Next you will be prompted how you wish to join your audio. If you would like to attend a Zoom meeting via telephone use one of the dial-in telephone numbers provided in the email invitation and follow the prompts.

To do this, enter using the computer application first, and select the Join By Phone tab when the audio pop-up window appears see example below. Dial in as noted above. Enter this number followed by , and your video and audio will then be synchronized.
