I have reactivated my Windows 8. The version of the Windows 10 installer I was using is asking for a product key I will return after the new download finishes with an update but I have a suspicion the end result will be the same.
I have a feeling that this is happening because newer mobile devices are assigned embedded product keys and that this new version of Windows can’t verify the validity of these keys.
If this turns out to be the case, a whole lot of people aren’t going to be able to upgrade until it’s addressed. You actually bring up a good point and that maybe what is happening to a lot of people, including myself. This also works on Surfaces, and Windows Phones with the command line app. Well, I know what my Windows 8. My problem is it seems to be lost whenever I upgrade to Windows Been trying to find a solution to that I have no problem installing and activating Windows 8.
