Hi, I am creating PDFs with nonstandard page and margin sizes. I had a problem with inconsistencies that I solved. But the solution is so inelegant that I must be doing something wrong. The goal: The page size is W mm x H mm. The resulting save as PDF should have mirrored side margins: 20 and 25 mm — not a problem.

The top margin with no visible header should be 15 mm. There is a footer. The margin between the bottom page edge and the baseline of the footer is supposed to be 15 mm. Ideally, there should be 10 mm at least between the Lowest line of text and the footer.

To achieve this in Word, I have the following settings:. Margins: Inside: 20mm, Outside: 25mm works fine ; Top: 14 mm, Bottom Odd page header! Even page header – 0 mm , and the top margin setting of 14 mm does the rest of the work. No extra adjustment. How come? Footer margins — the distance between the page edge and the baseline of the footer seem to end up at 15 mm in PDFs if set to 14 mm in Word — not enough of a discrepancy to worry about.
