I have Sketchup installed on my computer and it worked fine until recently and now has problems that I believe are due to a windows update as many other users are having the same problem.

The program has slowed almost to a stop and I have to wait for a long time for Sketchup to respond to the mouse to select an item in Sketchup. I have run the computer in safe mode and i get a message telling me that Sketchup is no compatible with Windows 10 which seems strange to me considering it worked fine until recently.

The trouble shooter also states that my hardware accelleration has been turned off which makes no sense to me. The latest drivers are installed for my graphic card but as I said lot of people are having this problem since recent update for Windows Please, is there any way this can be rectified.

How can I uninstall recent updates. I have reinstalled the program several times and no change in the performance, Sketchup now totally sucks.

We cannot imagine how frustrating this situation could be. An update of the software might be needed to get in working again. But that’s for the developer to decide. Certain types of updates cannot be uninstalled the only other option is System Restore to see if you can roll back to before the problem started.

You may need to report this to the software provider. I’m having the exact same problem. Sketchup has become completely unusable, you use the feature 10 times a minute to select an object or face and now it takes 30s to select something.

I uninstalled my display drivers – they reinstall and then it worked perfectly. I could use it again. Next time I reboot my computer it is back to non responsive and I cannot use the tool.

You cannot disable Windows 10 updates but the updates can “brick” your computer at anytime. You dont know if you will be able to use your computer if you boot it up the next day, really frustrating. I can imagine it’s very frustrating. The windows updates will keep coming even if you can uninstall them.

It sounds like it’s something to do with display drivers though I had wondered that. There is a setting to stop driver updates from being installed. See if this helps. So far so good – my SketchUp is working as expected and I have rebooted a couple of times and did a full shutdown and restart to see if it reverts and no issues yet. Today I get the Creators Update pushed down – it re-enabled Automatic Driver Updates, updated the driver again and now it is not working again. Windows is up to date and the update that is probably causing the problem KB or KB I cannot uninstall from my computer because there is no “uninstall” option in the uninstall an update window, I only have “organise” but no “uninstall” tab. It is indeed very frustrating. In reply to neilpzz’s post on May 20, Yes as mentioned above I have downloaded the latest version of the software to no avail. I even downloaded a version but that performed the same way.

In reply to JohnRobinsonqld’s post on May 20, I saw that it is some KB patch on some article. I saw that it was some Intel display driver update on another article. In reply to amkza’s post on May 20, I have updated the drivers – downloaded the latest version from Intel’s site. The version pushed with automatic updates The version from Intel’s site I have also now disabled the automatic driver updates.
